Nintendo Just Announced a Summer Release for a New Game in a Cult Classic Series

The beloved, quirky world of Rhythm Heaven is officially returning. Nintendo has announced that the latest installment in the fan-favorite series, Rhythm Heaven Groove, will launch on July 2nd. The title is confirmed for release on both the current Nintendo Switch and its highly anticipated successor, the Switch 2.

This marks a major comeback for the franchise, which has been dormant since the Nintendo 3DS entry, Rhythm Heaven Megamix, launched in 2016. Known for its deceptively simple, stylized visuals and incredibly catchy music, the series challenges players with a rapid-fire succession of unique rhythm minigames. These often involve tapping, flicking, and holding in time with the beat across a wide variety of absurd and charming scenarios.

The announcement confirms long-standing rumors and fan hopes for the series' revival. By confirming a dual release for Switch and the forthcoming Switch 2, Nintendo ensures the game will be available to the massive existing Switch audience while also serving as a key title for its next-generation platform. The July release date sets the stage for a summer filled with the series' signature charm, memorable tunes, and rhythm-based challenges that have cemented its status as a cult classic.
