The wait is almost over for fans of shopkeeping and dungeon crawling. Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is leaving Early Access soon, with the 1.0 launch now locked in. The developers confirmed the news this week, giving players a clear date to circle on their calendars.
The sequel builds on the original game's loop of running a store by day and raiding dungeons by night. This time, the focus shifts to the Vault, a sprawling, ever-changing structure that promises more depth and tougher decisions. Early Access players have been testing the core mechanics for months, and the feedback has shaped the final polish. The full release will include the complete story arc, all planned bosses, and the final tier of shop upgrades.
One of the biggest changes in the full version is the addition of new biomes inside the Vault. Each area has its own enemies, loot, and environmental hazards. The economy has also been rebalanced, so prices for goods and upgrade materials feel fairer. The devs say they wanted the 1.0 experience to feel like a complete package, not just a patched-up beta.
For those who have been holding off until the game was finished, this is the signal to jump in. The Endless Vault will also get a few quality-of-life tweaks on day one, including improved controller support and a new tutorial for newcomers.
The release date is set for early next month. If you already own the Early Access version, the 1.0 update will be free, and your save file will carry over. No word yet on a console port, but the team hinted that talks are ongoing. For now, PC players can get ready to close up shop and head back into the dark.
