Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams is already making headlines for his unique personality and his willingness to engage with NFL history. On Thursday, Williams addressed the looming presence of Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, who has requested a trade and is widely considered one of the most dominant pass rushers of his generation.
When asked about the possibility of facing Garrett, Williams offered a colorful comparison. He referred to the defensive star as a "she-wolf," a phrase that drew immediate attention. Some fans speculated it was a reference to a Shakira song, while others pointed to Roman mythology, where a she-wolf famously nursed the founders of Rome. Williams did not clarify which inspiration he meant, but he made it clear he respects Garrett's game. "He has a case to be the greatest defensive player ever dealt in his prime," Williams said, acknowledging the rare nature of a trade involving a player of Garrett's caliber.
Williams also channeled his inner Michael Jordan during the press conference. He wore a pair of Jordan-brand sneakers and referenced the Bulls legend's competitive mindset when discussing his own approach to the game. "It's about the work," Williams said. "The preparation. The belief that you can dominate."
The rookie signal-caller is also set to appear on the cover of the upcoming "Madden NFL 25" video game, a milestone that places him among the league's most marketable young stars. Williams said the honor is surreal but emphasized that his focus remains on winning games for Chicago. "The cover is cool, but it doesn't mean anything if we don't win," he said.
